Tips on How to Market Your Day Spa Business

Posted by Alan Smith | Day Spa | Monday 25 January 2010 8:44 pm

A day spa is a place people go to spend some time on themselves. It can take some prodding to get them to do this though. That is because too many people feel guilty when they take time for themselves. This is a concept that does take time to change and that is where your marketing comes in.

People tend to feel guilty about pampering themselves in our society. Mothers really are the worst as they feel all of there time and efforts should be spent on their family. This can result in a person feeling overwhelmed and stressed out though. Use your marketing strategies to let them know just how beneficial spa treatments can be for them.

Not all day spas offer the same types of treatments. A common mistake for advertising is not saying what you have to offer. Even if you do list all of the treatments, people may not know the difference between a deep tissue massage and a Swedish message. Make sure your advertising gives them the information they need to decide what they would like to try.

Don’t limit yourself to just one type of marketing for your day spa business either. The more types of avenues you explore the more people you will reach. Think about where your target market is and go for it. Advertise just about anywhere that people will listen including the radio, billboards, bulletin boards, mail them postcards, and the newspapers.

Some day spa owners don’t think they need a website for a local business but they are wrong. This is the perfect place for people to go to get further information from the other advertising they have been exposed to. On your web pages you will be able to offer detailed information and to offer pictures of what they can experience when they come in.

Let your happy customers do some marketing for you as well. They are very credible with their friends and family members. This can encourage someone that wouldn’t give a day spa a chance to give it a second look. Offer a discount to your customers that do get other people to come and try your day spa. You will generate a great deal of business from this process and it will be worth it to reward them in such a way.
